The murals will then be cleaned and retouched

The earthquake weakened many medieval structures in Upper Mustang’s walled capital of Lo Manthang, including the monastery and the former king’s five-storey palace. The local Loba community, however, believe it is better to pray to undamaged images of the Buddha, and see it as their duty to keep them in good repair. It also ruptured the main drainage system, allowing water to penetrate monastery walls and raising the risk of mould.Tsewang Jigme is among the artists toiling to safeguard the unique cultural heritage of this former Buddhist kingdom high on the Tibetan plateau, which escaped the ravages of the Cultural Revolution in neighbouring China."I think that would be a loss for the people of Nepal but (also) for the world at large," she said. The quake caused layers of plaster to separate and crack into pieces at the Jampa Lhakhang, where shards of 500-year-old fresغیر مجاز می باشد still litter the floors. In 2008, the foundation, which is headed by the former king of Upper Mustang, received nearly ,000 in US government funding to restore monuments, including Ghemi’s chortens. The two-year-long restoration involved more than 100 workers and craftsmen, who cleaned the monuments, rebuilt the walls, replaced rotting timber beams and repaired the carvings.

The region’s Lo Gekar monastery was established by the founder of Tibetan Buddhism and predates the oldest temple complex built in Tibet, which was severely damaged in the 1960s during the Cultural Revolution. But wind and rain eroded the mud walls of monuments and rotted wooden ceiling beams, while smoke from ceremonial butter lamps turned luminous fresغیر مجاز می باشد black. I feel nervous every time I touch them, I know I need to work very carefully so as not to do any harm to them," the 32-year-old painter told AFP. It is a painstaking process that involves grinding gemstones like lapis oil mold Manufacturers lazuli and malachite into a fine powder that is mixed with water and animal glue to create pigments.A decade ago, two chortens — Buddhist shrines believed to protect communities from misfortune — in the village of Ghemi were close to collapse.Upper Mustang only opened to outsiders in 1992 and its murals, scriptures and cave paintings provide a rare window into early Buddhism. The murals will then be cleaned and retouched, a practice frowned on by some western conservationists. One was in such a poor state that children were using it as a playground and had broken interior painted slate panels.

When a massive earthquake struck Nepal in April 2015, killing nearly 9,000 nationwide and destroying around half a million homes, Ghemi was unscathed, prompting devout villagers to say that the restored shrines had protected them.. Teplitz."The shrine was already in such bad shape, the children had no idea that it was special and deserved respect," said Raju Bista, treasurer of the local non-profit Lo Gyalpo Jigme Foundation."These murals are irreplaceable. Jampa Lhakhang, a 15th-century monastery famous for having the world’s largest collection of mandalas (Buddhist غیر مجاز می باشدmic designs) painted on its walls, was severely damaged."The rich cultural heritage here is irreplaceable and the monuments are made of mud, of paint, of wood and can easily fade away and frankly be gone forever," said US ambassador to Nepal, Alaina B.Other monuments fared less well..Deep in the heart of a medieval monastery in Nepal’s remote Upper Mustang region, the battle to restore sacred murals and preserve traditional Tibetan Buddhist culture is in full swing. The proposed restoration work will shore up the structure by injecting plaster and glue into the walls and will be overseen by the American Himalayan Foundation, which has worked in the region since 1998..That means artists like Jigme, who has spent years working to preserve Upper Mustang’s murals, play a critical role

The baby was kidnapped from the roadside in Boyaguda

Locals made a call to the police after Rajashekar’s mother-in-law Verakonda Bala Laxmi noticed the head of a baby girl on the terrace while she went to dry clothes. The results came on Tuesday, confirming that the blood stains found inside the house were matching with that on the terrace," the official said."His wife was unwell for the past four years and the couple visited one Sammaka Saralamma two years ago in Medaram where they met one Koya Dora who asked them to go for ‘narabali’, (human sacrifice) of a jar mold girl child to get rid of evil spirits causing her illness. For performing the ‘Kshudra Puja’, the couple had sent their two kids to a relative’s place a day before. Rajashekar was then grilled about the case once again with the latest discovery of blood samples and he confessed of murdering the baby. But he said that he went back to sleep again after having some water. He then kept the head in a polythene bag and reached home around 3 am.

The baby was kidnapped from the roadside in Boyaguda on January 31 night by Rajashekar as he was searching for a female baby to sacrifice."On February 1, the severed head of a three-month-old infant was found on the terrace of Rajashekar’s house in Chilkanagar," joint commissioner of police, Rachakonda, Dr Tarun Joshi said.Hyderabad: Rachakonda police on Thursday arrested one Kerukonda Rajashekar, 40, and his wife, Srilatha, 35, for murdering a baby and throwing away the body into Musi river. However, police officials found substantial evidence which inclined the case towards him.Accordingly, police then picked up his wife from their residence and booked cases against them under Section 302 (murder), 366 (Kidnapping), 201 (Causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender) and 120 B (Criminal conspiracy) of the IPC..The baby’s head was lying on the south-west corner of the terrace.30 am and around 2 pm upon hearing the dogs barking, his sleep was disturbed.A feeding bottle was also found in Rajashekar’s car, he added.Rajashekar, who was arrested by Uppal police on Thursday morning, had earlier said that on January 31, they had closed doors around 12."A blood stain was found on the floor of their house on February 9, which was collected by the Clues team and was sent for analysis. On January 31, Rajasekhar took out his car and kidnapped the baby who was sleeping on the roadside with her parents. Around 2 am, he mercilessly beheaded the child and flung the body into the river along with the knife and waited for about half-an-hour for the bleeding to stop." the police commissioner of Rachakonda, Mahesh Bhagwat said. He did the heinous act under the persuasion of his wife Srilatha. He then consulted three black magicians regarding the issue," police commissioner of Rachakonda, Mahesh Bhagwat said."He went there with a knife and a plastic bag, picked up the sleeping baby, along with a feeding bottle, and proceeded towards Musi river in the outs******ts of Prathap Singaram

We dedicate a lot of time to brainstorming

We dedicate a lot of time to brainstorming to come up with exciting and engaging ‘hooks’ that are translated into a creative idea (and the invite). And one thing’s for sure — these won’t be of the regular red or gold, paisley motif sort. So Pranshu set up his own studio in 2010, Inneriver, and has been specialising in creating just such concept cards since then. We call it our trademark ‘deep-dive’ formula," says Pranshu, adding, "We do create invites like we create ads." Since there aren’t too many people doing concept-based invites like these, Pranshu says creative inspiration comes from the kind of work that top advertising pet self-locking mold and communications agencies like Ogilvy, JWT, Saatchi & Saatchi, Creative Land Asia, Grey etc do. Invite manufacturers are always on the look out for the latest invite designs — which they can copy and mass-produce — for so-called ‘print-your-name’ customisation.Soon, an uncle wanted Pranshu to design an invite for his 50th birthday bash; then another friend wanted a first birthday invite created for his son. Pranshu didn’t just create a cute-looking card that gave out the details of the bash — he constructed an entire blind date game that helped the bride and groom’s families interact with each other in a fun way before the wedding rituals."Pranshu’s "signature" is in the use of a strong central idea in his invites, which then executes in a simple and effective way. These invites are just nice looking designs with fancy paper and production techniques. It’s only after a one-on-one meeting with our clients that we are able to read their mind and heart. We treat every individual like a brand.

People have no option but to use off-the-shelf, readymade, just-print-your-name invites.. As Pranshu got greater appreciation from his circle of friends and acquaintances, he realised that there was a need for concept-based invites — invitation cards that weren’t just about pretty colours and fonts and motifs, but an idea that had some meaning to the people who the invites were being made for. Another invite has been created as a flipbook — so as the reader flips through all the pages in quick succession, the final mesغیر مجاز می باشدe emerges. "Yes, we plunge into people’s heart and create a piece of art.In 2009, Pranshu Maheshwari was working with the ad agency Saatchi & Saatchi in Gurgaon, when a close friend, who was soon to be married, approached him for help with an invite. Having found nothing attention-grabbing enough in the market, he asked Pranshu to turn his creative talents to the project.

The process clearly reflects Pranshu’s advertising background, as what is being created, is a product uniquely reflective of the client. Ask Pranshu about how he realised there was a "gap" in the market that was not being addressed, and he says, "The current invite market is highly unorganised and lacks professional touch. Pranshu’s friend needed an interesting invite for his pre-wedding cocktail party and didn’t want to go with something run-of-the-mill. It is the same ad agency way of functioning where client brief is evaluated by the agency’s client servicing and planning department and then forwarded to creative department for ideation and execution. For instance, one of his designs for an 18th birthday bash has a box with 17 Coca-Cola bottle caps, and then a Budweiser bottle cap as the 18th. Up next for Pranshu is the formal launch of a wedding invite service

The bench took an example of credit card fraud and wanted to know whether this can be possible with Aadhaar.Referring to an RTI reply, Divan said that enrolment of 6.The apex court had on December 15 last year extended till March 31 the deadline for mandatory linking of Aadhaar with various services and welfare schemes of all ministries and departments of the Centre, states and Union territories.," he said..The Mamta Banerjee government was putting forth its arguments before a five-judge Constitution bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra which is hearing a clutch of pleas challenging the constitutional validity of the Aadhaar scheme and the pet bottle mould enabling 2016 law.Earlier in the day, senior advocate Shyam Divan, who appeared for those opposed to Aadhaar scheme, referred to a report on deaths caused due to starvation in Jharkhand as the ration cards of the victims were not linked with Aadhaar and said that the issue pertained to exclusion, death and dignity."How does the court decide what level of risk is proper or not? Should the court get into this or should it be left to the legislature," the bench asked.

The creamy Super Sundae with nuts took me back to my childhood

Boondi laddu pudding is ready to serve. The rajma cooked to perfection in a tangy tomato gravy was reminiscent of mom's cooking. Truly home-style. Executive Chef Amit Chowdhury explained that, this one was a rendition of the original, double baked, served in lesser time. Next step is to add kesar milk. I took a spoonful.Lightly grease a baking tray or plate. A closer look at the menu revealed that the pricing had changed — nothing was priced in four digits.Boondi Laddu Pudding Ingredients:Boondi laddu, 5Milk, 1 cupAlmonds and pistachios, 8-10 Kesar (saffron), 10-12 stringsSugar if neededMethod:In a bowl take 2 tbsp of milk.Taste the mixture and add sugar if required. Its crumbly texture with rich almond flavour was a treat for taste buds. The dollop of ice cream on top completed the experience.Chef’s tip — You could either serve it hot in ramekins of set it in the refrigerator and enjoy its cold version. Was it The Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai I was seated in, then, I wondered Indeed, Shamiana, the all-day dining restaurant, which has re-opened, in a brand new avatar, in its original location, by the lobby, seemed a lot more relaxed and casual, than I have ever known it since the 1990s. Stir well so that all the fruit and nuts are coated with chocolate. The desserts again left ample room for choice. Stir continuously, otherwise the milk may stick to the bottom of the pan. This was overly familiar; this was my regular Goan fish curry with brown rice. For chicken lovers, there was Chicken Lababdar and a Roast Chicken Basket, besides a Gourmet Lamb Burger for the meat eaters. We were being offered some of the best selections by the chefs who had specially curated a menu for China water bottle mold Manufacturers us.Melt the chocolate in a large heat proof bowl in a microwave for one minute. I found myself making the right choice with the Baked Almond Cake. The air was redolent with informality and the bonhomie was evident. The formal style of service may have been done away with, but the warmth and efficiency is still there. In a pan, heat milk and add the laddu. Chill for 15-20 minutes until set.Once set, take off tray and store in a cool place. Garnish it with chopped mixed nuts.In a new avatar with a modern decor, slashed prices and a revised menu —Shamiana, the all-day dining restaurant at Taj holds a lot of promise.

The creamy Super Sundae with nuts took me back to my childhood.Recipe Courtesy: Chef Naresh Guglani, Corporate Chef, Del Monte— Mini is a food writer. After five minutes, switch off the heat.Known for its varied selection of casual international fare since 1973, Shamiana recently went for a makeover. The idea is to make Shamiana more accessible and affordable. But no. For once I decided to skip chocolate and give another dessert a chance. It seemed like nothing had changed as far as the food was concerned.Add the dried cranberries and chopped nuts to the melted chocolate. Recipe Courtesy: Chef Rakhee Vaswani Chocolate Cranberry Nut ClustersIngredients: Dried cranberries, 75 gmWalnuts, 50 gmAlmonds, 50 gmDark chocolate, 200 gm MethodChop the walnuts and almonds.Drop teaspoonful of the chocolate mix on the tray. For vegetarians, there was the good old rajma chawal and a vegetable and herbs burger. Stir and let the mixture cook for five more minutes. Stir until smooth. Shamiana, an all-day breakfast space by day and an easy-vibe evening venue, definitely offers more by way of fun, relaxation and of course, home-style food. Shamiana’s extensive by-glass and by-bottle list of Indian and international wines with classic cocktails and cocktails-to-share, struck me as a deliberate attempt to add flair and fun to the place and give it a youthful vibe. The menu is as international as it can be, but with several Indian favourites like rajma chawal, keema pav and pav bhaji thrown in, besides Taj signatures from across the world — Chicken Bunny Chow to Fish n Chips. Fluffy, soft and with a slightly grainy texture, the Camembert left me speechless. With its newly done chic décor and bright, airy interiors, it is definitely warmer and friendlier. Sole fish and prawns in a comforting coconut milk-based, tangy and mildly spicy curry.I was relieved to see my favourite Baked Camembert Cheese Soufflé, from Zodiac Grill. Add kesar (saffron) strings soak for 10 minutes. Else how many of us can enter the haloed precincts of Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai to dine My Fish Exotica came next. Double baked it said — I was perplexed

The craziest thing I’ve done for love is actually

It was her very first concert and I think she brought a lot of good luck along. Love at its most intense is an intoxicating emotion, making us do crazy things without actually realising how crazy they are at that moment. Everytime we celebrate our wedding anniversary, Nindy wonders how she agreed to marry me so quick.. Tanuj Virwani, actor When Wholesale Jar Preform Mould I was in college, I really liked this girl who liked me as well but I was waiting for a nice opportunity to ask her out. But instead of taking her somewhere outside, I decided to entertain her with a specially crafted ‘wine and dine’ experience at one of my friend’s terrace. My crazy day didn’t end there. So after preparing everything, I went to pick her up and when I reached there with her I see that the terrace was empty.m.m. Nindy (Kaur, who he is married to for more a decade) came to watch me perform at one of my most landmark shows in my heydays and somehow we got chatting and exchanged e-mails. I was about to get intimate and the perfect M&B moment went for a toss when I got hauled up by an elderly conservative gentleman. I remember this one Valentine’s Day when my girlfriend and I had actually had a big fight and she was flying out somewhere on that day itself. In the aftermath of all this, my manager had to make up a fake trip to the rental car company to explain the miles, as one of the conditions of the rental was that it was to be used only in-state. We all drove back in pin drop silence to her pad and a five-hour marathon Q&A session ensued with more than 10 family members.

The craziest thing I’ve done for love is actually the ballsy proposal. Love can make us crazy, do ridiculous things, but I regret none of it.—you name it and I went all out there. So, it finally ended up like a big fat Punjabi affair that night as we exchanged rings but we did manage to pop the champagne bottle and share that under the stars and kiss on the rooftop. It was super fun. On one occasion, I had flown down from Delhi just to fill the house with lilies and surprise her. Our connect was music and that’s what got us together and has kept us together till date. I blindfolded her from behind and waltzed with her as I hummed "Lady In Red". I left without a word at 3 a. I went into a state of shock and disbelief until the moment I saw that my Valentine had gotten down on one knee and asked me out instead! She took me downstairs where she had arranged a surprise party for me! Oh man, it was the sweetest thing ever!Samir Kochhar, actor While Radhika and I find Valentine’s Day extremely overrated, we do have some lovely memorable moments that have been special. I believe to celebrate love, those small moments, handmade somethings and even holding hands make it so special!Manjeet Ral, musicianOurs was a typical high school and old school romance., the "where the hell are you!" texts and calls came rolling in, but I turned off my phone. Around 6 a. It was 14th of February and I knew she was the one and I had to go down on my knee and pop the big question but I was nervous like a wreck. I blindfolded him and took him to the airport without giving him a hint of what’s going to happen, and when I actually opened his blindfold, his face was filled with shock, happiness, confusion, excitement and anxiousness.

Then I took him off to Goa, which (the destination) he didn’t even know until we landed there. After all those surprises he turned the table on me with a scuba diving session. I think we wrote to each other every single day thereafter but we couldn’t meet or chat over the phone., after emailing a lengthy note to my manager that I wouldn’t be accompanying the band to the next gig that week because I just had to leave to conquer a big milestone. She had checked in at the airport and what happened next was exactly like it happens in the movies — I convinced the security to let me in, made my way straight to her and finally managed to pacify her. We decided to meet by the lake and mind you, this was our second meeting in person so the mushiness was hard to ignore. I handpicked everything from the menu to the things to decorate it with and got everything ready, even cooked food for her, decorated the terrace with balloons, bought wine, etc. On the eve of Valentine’s Day, I "stole" my organisers’ rental car and drove 13 hours from the outs******ts to the city after a crazy show in London, stopping only for gas. Nindy went all red in the face and officially introduced me to her father. I guess when you’re in love, you’ll do whatever it takes to keep things together with your loved one!Shamin Mannan, actress I once surprised my Valentine in one of the craziest and wildest ways possible.Amit Ranjan, model I love the drama that comes with romance

Shekhar sends a curt one-line reply

Shekhar follows them to their home and puts forward his marriage proposal, which is accepted. Shekhar, the dance maestro known for his prowess, is a taciturn man, an orphan with no clue about his parents. She weaves mythological bits seamlessly into the narrative, making the readers want more.  Had the author given a bit of her past and explained her better, it would have been great and would have made her character more believable. The girl is Manasi, daughter of Nobarun Bhattacharya, the priest of the puja. When an elated Shekhar lands in New York, Vatsala is one of the volunteers who receives him and as promised, Shekhar starts Vatsala’s dance lessons.Vatsala, obsessed with Shekhar, succeeds through her petitions to the department of cultural affairs in NewYork who make Shekhar an offer he can’t refuse — they want him to set up Kala Mandir in the US in collaboration with them and have an inaugural show. Dance aficionado or not, you end up wanting to know more about Bharatanatyam. Shekhar’s cold and indifferent nature was a turnoff. Rising to the challenge, Manasi gives Vatsala the role of Gauri. And that’s what happened to me. Not only does she want to learn Bharatanatyam from him, she wants to share the stage with him.I wish more emphasis had been laid on these bits because Kali and Shiva are fascinating and all the stories associated with them make for an interesting read.Dasgupta has etched the characters of Shekhar and Manasi well.Watching Shekhar portray the protagonist, Arjun, Vatsala gets mesmerised by his performance. Shekhar is in the city for the last round of his interview with Britannia Industries when he happens to go to one of the Durga Puja pandals wherein he sees a girl in her early 20s dancing to the beats of the dhal (a special drum used during Durga Puja).Rasia tells the story of Bharatanatyam dancers — Raj Shekhar Subramanian and his wife, Manasi — who run a dance academy, Kala Mandir, in Mumbai. The story begins with Shekhar’s visit to Kolkata. I found Shekhar’s character a bit dry while I immediately warmed to Manasi’s character. Though I have heard about the dance form, I have never had a chance to watch a live  performance.Of the five narratives, I liked the ones by Manasi and her father the most. In Manhattan, Vatsala tries all her womanly wiles on Shekhar but to no avail.Though the book makes for an interesting read, the cover is China oil mold Factory a let-down, neither capturing the essence of the story nor the title. Manasi, on the other hand, is docile. She sends him a letter asking him to consider her if one of his dancers falls ill before a show and telling him that she wants to learn dance from him. She gives in to her husband’s control-freak nature by foregoing all her desires and making his wishes her own. Meanwhile in India, Manasi is busy conceptualising and choreographing the inaugural show, a responsibility her husband has entrusted her with. In Manasi, Shekhar sees his future student, his first one, as well as a life partner whom he can mould toperfection.

Shekhar sends a curt one-line reply that if ever Kala Mandir comes to the US, she will be his first student. The book has five narrators, Shekhar, Manasi, Vatsala, Brian Herrett, the journalist writing Shekhar’s biography and finally, Manasi’s father, who though long dead narrates bits of the story acting as Shekhar’s subconscious voice. It was the character of Vatsala that I found irritating.Shekhar trains Manasi in Bharatanatyam and, in due course, they set up Kala Mandir — India’s finest dance academy where the couple train a group of talented students who also treat Bharatanatyam as religion and their daily practice, a prayer.Rachna Chhabria is a Bengaluru based children’s author and a freelance writer. The moment you see the cover of Rasia: The Dance of Desire by Koral Dasgupta, you know that you have undertaken a journey of dance. I’m not sure why I disliked Vatsala — was it because of her brash, arrogant and outspoken nature or was it because of her I-will get-what-I-want attitude?Dasgupta is in her element in the chapters where Manasi is conceptualising the play, Rasia. But after reading Rasia, I have a new wish in my bucket-list: to watch a Bharatanatyam performance. When the members of Kala Mandir finally land in New York several months later with their show, Rasia: The Dance of Desire, Shiva’s غیر مجاز می باشدmic dance with Kali where Shekhar is Shiva to Manasi’s Kali, Vatsala challenges Manasi to accommodate her in the show and create a part for her to prove that she isn’t insecure about her "relationship" with Shekhar. Then one day, between the two enters Manhattan-based ballet dancer Vatsala Pandit who sees Shekhar perform at a dance show, Manipur Stotram, in New York. Dance is his passion and he has a burning desire to take his dance academy to greater heights
